The ' Mont Gangan ' and south rivers

10 days trip

When I arrived in Guinea, a friend took me to his old hunting grounds. Not to hunt, oh no, but to show me this mountain range invisible from the road. There are villages, hamlets, and Peul camps nestled there. In one of these villages, I met an extraordinary man, a beautiful soul.

He was the village chief and a healer and bone-setter. He welcomed me so warmly that I wanted to stay at his place and Tombo became my village.

He introduced me to almost the entire population of the mountain range, and there are many of them… and I wanted to make it my base for this beautiful hike.

Since then, we have created a school and a dispensary there, with the participation of the Palabre association

and one of our clients, who had also fallen in love with this village perched at an altitude of 1000 meters.

Bassiaka has left us.

A rugged and beautiful region, off the beaten track and less than three hours away by vehicle.

I would be delighted to show you Guiafaré, in homage to Bassiaka…        Cécile
